Everything you need to know

Mat ceramic13 shapesFor assembling

The name is no coincidence: much like the curve it is named after, the Cosinus collection plays with arcs, circles, and undulations. It brings together 13 ceramic shapes, all finished in a matte cream with a soft touch, designed to be selected one by one and then assembled into a composition. Pieces include a large ring on a base, a half-moon arch, a double gourd, a flat flared flask, a tiered silhouette, a handled cylinder, and a small hammered vase. Dimensions range from approximately 5 cm high for the smallest shape to 29 cm for the tallest, allowing you to create height variations on a shelf, console, or coffee table. Each piece retains an opening to hold a few stems, dried flowers, grasses, or a sprig of eucalyptus, though they are equally striking on their own, empty. The concept: compose your own landscape of shapes, balancing solids and voids, straight lines and curves.

The material

Matte ceramic, without artifice

Ceramic is one of the oldest materials shaped by humans: clay molded and then fired at high temperature, becoming hard, dense, and durable. Here, the surface receives a matte finish, without shine, which allows the volumes to be read through light alone. The edges soften, the curves appear almost velvety, and the cast shadows become an element of the decor.

This deliberate sobriety has an advantage: the cream hue, close to sand or light stone, pairs beautifully with wood, black metal, marble, linen, or rattan. It does not compete with dried plants but highlights them, and allows for mixing shapes freely without the ensemble becoming cluttered.

The art of composition

In our photos, the Cosinus shapes are never alone for very long. The ring with neck responds to the double gourd, the half-moon echoes the large arch, and the tiered profile closes the scene like a bookend. The eye wanders from one curve to the next, passes through the voids, and settles on a dried stem.

The secret to a successful composition follows three rules: vary the heights, alternate solid and openwork shapes, and leave air between the pieces. Three to five shapes are enough for a console; one or two for a bedside table. On two shelf levels, you can even make the shapes dialogue from one tray to another.

Create your composition

1
Choose a tall shape to structure the ensemble, such as the large ring on foot, the handled cylinder, or the ring with neck.
2
Add a low, horizontal shape, like the half-moon, large arch, or lying ring, to ground the composition.
3
Complete with one or two intermediate shapes, such as the double gourd, bell flask, or hammered vase, varying solids and voids.
4
Add a few stems of dried flowers or grasses in just one or two openings, and leave the other pieces empty.

Good to know: each shape is sold individually at the price indicated for the chosen letter. To replicate a composition from our photos, select each shape separately. Flowers, candles, plants, and decorative objects visible in the photos are not included.
Our tip: pair an openwork shape, like a ring or an arch, with a solid shape, like the gourd or bell flask. The contrast between empty and full immediately creates rhythm, even with just two pieces. Place the tallest one slightly set back to create depth.

Note: ceramic is fragile if knocked or dropped; handle openwork shapes by their base. Openings are narrow on most models: they are best suited for thin stems and dried flowers. Water tightness is not specified, so prioritize dry compositions or test with a little water first. Clean with a dry or barely damp cloth.

An easy gift to compose

One or two Cosinus shapes make a lovely gift for a housewarming, birthday, or thank-you: choose the silhouettes that suit the person, tuck in a few dried flowers, and the gift is ready. For an admirer of clean decoration, a pre-composed trio of shapes always makes an impact.

Frequently asked questions

Are the vases sold individually or as a set?
Cosinus vases are sold individually: each letter, from A to N, corresponds to a specific shape and its own price. To compose a set like in our photos, simply add the desired shapes to your cart, one by one. This format allows you to build your composition gradually, starting with two or three pieces and adding to it later. Dried flowers, plants, and staging accessories visible in the visuals are not supplied with the vases.
How should I choose shapes to combine?
Think in terms of heights and volumes. A tall shape like the large ring on foot (29 cm), the handled cylinder (27 cm), or the ring with neck (24 cm) structures the scene. A low and horizontal shape, like the half-moon, large arch, or lying ring, anchors it to the surface. In between, the double gourd, bell flask, or hammered vase provide the transition. Finally, alternate solid and openwork shapes to avoid an overly compact effect.
What are the dimensions of each shape?
Based on our visuals, height x width: A 20 x 13 cm, B 15.5 x 12.5 cm, C 11 x 10.5 cm, D 24 x 22 cm, E 18 x 18 cm, F 10 x 22.5 cm, G 5 x 12 cm, H 7.5 x 18 cm, I 29 x 27 cm, K 27 cm high, L 12.5 x 28 cm, M 15.5 x 11.5 cm, and N 16.5 x 11 cm. Slight deviations of about half a centimeter are possible.
Can I use them with fresh flowers?
Cosinus vases are primarily designed for dried flowers, grasses, and branches, which pair perfectly with their matte finish. Most shapes feature a narrow opening, suited to a few thin stems rather than a large bouquet. As water tightness is not specified for this collection, we recommend prioritizing dry arrangements or testing with a little water before placing fresh flowers, while keeping a close eye on the surface beneath the vase.
Can they be used without flowers?
Absolutely, and that is one of their strengths. Their silhouettes—rings, arches, tiers, or stacked curves—are bold enough to stand without any plant life. Placed empty on a shelf, desk, or console, they function as small sculptures that play with light and shadow. You can also alternate according to the seasons: empty in summer for a very streamlined look, filled with a few wheat stalks or a cotton branch in autumn and winter, as you wish.
How do I care for matte ceramic?
The matte finish can be cleaned simply with a soft, dry cloth or a duster to remove dust. In case of marks, use a barely damp cloth, then dry immediately. Avoid abrasive products, scouring sponges, and harsh detergents that could mark the surface. For the interior of narrow-necked shapes, a small soft bottle brush works well. Handle openwork shapes, like rings and arches, by their base rather than their thinner parts.
Is it a good gift idea?
Yes, especially for fans of minimalist decor or Scandinavian, Japandi, or boho styles. The fact that you can choose each shape allows you to tailor the gift to the person and their home: a single statement piece, like the large ring on a stand, for an elegant gesture, or a trio pre-selected for a more generous gift. Slip in a few stems of dried flowers and the gift is ready to give for a housewarming, birthday, or as a thank you.
