Everything you need to know

Customizable Golf On a green, a white ball looks just like any other. The PAR customizable golf ball stamp solves this issue with elegance: in one press, it applies your monogram, initials, logo, or a design chosen from our catalog (golf cross, flags, paw print, decorative monograms) to your ball. Its anodized aluminum tubular body, 23 mm in diameter and 52 mm in height, slips into a bag or pants pocket thanks to its protective cap. This is a self-inking stamp: no separate ink pad to carry. Six body colors are available, from sober black to bright gold, along with two presentations: the stamp alone, or the version delivered in a metal case with a refill ink bottle, ideal for gifting. A small everyday object for the golfer that turns a regulatory requirement into a personal signature.

Why mark your golf ball?

The Rules of Golf recommend that each player carry an identification mark on their ball. The reason is simple: playing the wrong ball results in a penalty, and two partners often use the same model, with the same number. In the rough, under a tree, or in the back of a bunker, only a personal mark allows you to state with certainty "that's mine." Many golfers settle for a felt-tip mark; stamping provides a cleaner result, identical from one ball to the next.

The principle of the self-inker has long been used in offices: the custom impression is pre-inked and ready to use, without a separate ink pad. For a ball, which is a curved and dimpled surface, simply press firmly while using a slight rocking motion to transfer the motif onto the dimples. The anodized aluminum body provides lightness and a secure grip; anodizing, a surface treatment that colors the metal's outer layer, offers durable hues and a satin finish.

The first tee ritual

Seven o'clock in the morning, the dew still glistening on the driving range. Before heading to the first hole, you empty your bag on the clubhouse bench: a glove, a few tees, a handful of new balls. Then comes that small gesture regulars know well: marking your balls. Where others scribble a dot with a marker, you take out your PAR stamp, remove the cap, and apply the same clean impression to each ball, with your initials or your emblem.

Later, at the seventh hole, two balls rest a meter from each other in the rough. Same brand, same number. Your partner hesitates; you don't. Your monogram is there, perfectly legible. That is the whole point of this object: a minuscule accessory that eliminates a source of doubt and penalty, and quietly asserts your style on the course.

The name PAR refers to the benchmark score for each hole, the one every player dreams of shooting. A nod for an object that, for its part, signs every one of your balls.

Marking your balls in four steps

1
Prepare the ball: wipe it down to remove dust, grass, or moisture; ink sticks better to a clean, dry surface.
2
Remove the cap: hold the body of the stamp upright, with the impression facing the ball, while holding the ball between your thumb and index finger of the other hand.
3
Press and rock: press firmly and follow through with a slight rocking motion so the motif matches the curvature of the ball.
4
Let it dry: wait a few moments before handling the ball, then close the stamp with its cap to preserve the ink.

Customization at order: the stamp is made with your design. Indicate your initials, your monogram, or attach your logo at the time of ordering, in the designated field or by message to customer service after ordering. You can also choose one of the designs from our catalog (golf cross, flags, paw, decorative monograms). A simple logo with clean lines will provide the best legibility on a small curved surface.

Golfer's tip: always mark your balls in the same spot, for example next to the number or aligned with the manufacturer's mark, to identify them at a glance. Keep the stamp cap closed between uses to prevent the ink from drying out, and refill it as soon as the impression becomes faint (the ink bottle is provided with the case presentation).

Frequently asked questions

How do I provide my initials or my logo?

The stamp is created with your design: you must indicate what you would like to see appear. Enter your initials or your monogram when ordering, in the designated field or by message to customer service after ordering. For a logo, send a file that is as sharp as possible, ideally black on a white background. If you don't have a visual, you can also choose one of the catalog designs: golf cross, flags, paw, decorative monograms. We recommend simple designs with thick lines, as the printing surface is small and the ball is curved: a motif that is too detailed will lose legibility.

Is marking the ball authorized by the rules?

Yes, it is actually recommended. The Rules of Golf invite each player to carry an identification mark on their ball, to recognize it unambiguously. Playing another player's ball leads to a penalty, and it is common for two partners to use the same brand and number. A monogram or logo applied with a stamp constitutes a clear personal mark. The marking has no impact on the ball's conformity as long as it is merely a surface application of ink. In competition, it is customary to announce to your marker the ball you are playing and your identification mark before the start.

What is the difference between the two presentations?

The Stamp only presentation includes the personalized stamp with its protective cap: this is the ideal version if you are buying it for yourself. The With metal case and ink presentation adds a lidded metal case, with a foam insert that holds the stamp, as well as a refill ink bottle to extend its use over time. This is the version we recommend for gifting: it presents immediately as a polished gift, and the bottle allows the recipient to refill their stamp without looking for compatible ink. In both cases, the stamp itself and its customization are identical.

How do I print properly on a round surface?

The golf ball is both curved and dimpled, which requires a motion slightly different from stamping on paper. Hold the ball firmly between your thumb and index finger, place the stamp perpendicular, then press firmly while accompanying with a slight rocking motion from one side to the other: the motif thus follows the curve. Avoid sliding the stamp, which would create smudges. Work on a clean, dry ball, and let dry for a few moments before storing. The first few attempts will help you find the right pressure; after that, marking becomes a process of a few seconds.

How do I refill the stamp with ink?

When the impression becomes faint or uneven, it is time to refill. The With metal case and ink presentation includes a refill bottle intended for this purpose. Apply a few drops of ink to the impression, without excess, then let it penetrate for a few minutes before testing on a sheet of paper or an old ball. It is better to refill in several small amounts than in one large quantity, which would cause smudges. Work on a protected surface, as the ink stains. Then keep the stamp cap closed to prevent it from drying out. The color of the provided ink is not specified by the manufacturer.

Does the marking last during a game?

A well-dried mark generally lasts for the duration of a game, but its longevity depends on many factors: the type of ball coating, repeated strikes, trips into sand or water, or cleaning in a ball washer. The manufacturer does not provide specific resistance characteristics for the ink. For optimal results, apply the stamp to a clean, dry ball and let the marking dry before playing. Like many golfers, you can re-stamp a worn ball before the next tee-off: this is exactly the advantage of having a compact tool in your bag pocket.

Which color should I choose for a gift?

The color refers to the anodized aluminum body of the stamp, not the imprint. For a classic gift, Black and Gold are the most elegant choices, especially in a presentation box. Green is a direct nod to the golf course, while Blue, Red, and Purple add a sportier touch and make the stamp easy to find at the bottom of a bag. You can also take inspiration from the person's club colors, golf bag, or emblem. Whatever you choose, the personalized design remains the real heart of the gift.
