Frequently asked questions
How do I maintain a ceramic cigar rest?
Rinse with lukewarm water after use. Avoid impacts — ceramic is sturdy but can crack. Air drying is recommended.
Can the LAPAZ withstand the heat of a lit cigar?
Yes. The LAPAZ is made of high-quality ceramic, a material that is naturally heat-resistant: it can hold a lit cigar during a break without deforming or deteriorating. Unlike some plastic or varnished wood supports, ceramic does not release any odor when in contact with heat and will not interfere with the flavors of your tasting. Simply ensure you place the cigar on the designated rest, with the burning part suspended over the edge so that it does not touch the surface directly. This position preserves both the finish of the LAPAZ and the burn of your cigar.
Can the LAPAZ be used as an ashtray?
The LAPAZ is first and foremost a cigar rest: its function is to keep your cigar in a stable position during a break, without rolling or falling. With its compact dimensions of 4.5 × 3.5 × 3.5 cm, it is not designed to collect ash. For a comfortable tasting experience, we recommend pairing it with an ashtray: you tap the ash into it during the tasting and place the cigar on the LAPAZ between puffs. This combination is particularly practical outdoors or on a coffee table, where a cigar left without a support might roll or mark the furniture.
How should I place my cigar on the LAPAZ?
Place the cigar so that the lit part remains suspended, without contact with the ceramic or the table. The stable base of the LAPAZ keeps the cigar in position, preventing it from rolling. Avoid leaving it motionless for too long: a quality cigar can burn on its own for a few minutes, but beyond that, it risks going out. If it goes out, that's okay: gently remove the excess ash, blow softly into the cigar to clear out cold smoke, and then relight it by heating the foot without direct contact with the flame. You will regain clean flavors and an even burn.
Can I take the LAPAZ with me when traveling?
Yes, that is one of its benefits. With their compact format of 4.5 × 3.5 × 3.5 cm, the LAPAZ fits easily into a bag or accessory pouch to accompany your tastings on the terrace, in the garden, on vacation, or at friends' houses. Their stable base is particularly appreciated outdoors, on a garden table or a ledge, where a cigar laid flat might otherwise roll away. Since ceramic is sturdy but sensitive to shocks, wrap them in a soft cloth or store them in a protected compartment during transport. This way, you can enjoy your accessories anywhere, without the risk of breakage.
Why a set of two cigar rests?
Smoking a cigar is often a shared moment. Delivered as a set of 2, the LAPAZ allows everyone to have their own support during a tasting for two, between friends or as a couple, without having to place their cigar next to someone else's. This format is also very practical for daily use: you can keep one in the living room and the other on the terrace, or leave one at home and take the second one with you when traveling. Finally, the two pieces form a harmonious and cohesive set, ideal for putting together a neat tasting area or completing a gift box.
Is the LAPAZ a good gift idea?
It is a simple and well-thought-out gift, appreciated by all enthusiasts, from beginners to experienced smokers. Practical for everyday use, the high-quality ceramic LAPAZ meets a real need: to set your cigar down safely during a tasting. Delivered as a set of 2, it is ideal to give to a couple of enthusiasts or two friends who share their cigar moments. It also makes an excellent addition to enrich a gift box alongside a cigar cutter, a lighter, or an ashtray from our selection. It is suitable for a birthday, Father's Day, or as a thoughtful gesture.
