Supple, durable crazy horse cowhide leather
The MANUSCRIT is made from cowhide leather, prized for its density and resistance to everyday wear. It is treated using the crazy horse method: infused with oils and waxes, then finished to achieve a matte, slightly distressed look with irregular shading. On the coffee-colored leather, this finish creates lighter areas along the folds and edges, adding depth to the pouch.
For an item held in the hand by its hand strap and opened and closed all the time, this supple, oily feel is an advantage: the leather folds without cracking, small scratches often fade with a rub, and the surface develops a warm, personal patina over time. The smooth polyester lining makes it easy to slide the tablet in and out.

Tip: don't overfill the twelve card slots: leather that is stretched too tight holds its shape, making the flap harder to close. To care for the coffee-colored leather, rub small marks with the flat of your hand, then apply a colorless nourishing balm once or twice a year. Place the tablet with the screen facing the lining.

How does the hand strap work?
The hand strap is a leather strap attached to the back of the pouch. Slip your hand through it, palm flat against the leather, and the pouch stays in place on its own, without needing to grip it. It's handy for reading or taking notes while standing, getting around a crowd, train station, or trade show, or keeping your fingers free to use your phone. This carrying style also reduces the risk of dropping your tablet. To put the pouch in a bag, simply flatten the strap against the back so it doesn't take up space.
What storage does the pouch offer?
The MANUSCRIT is as much a wallet as a case. It has two main compartments, one for the tablet and the other for folded documents, a passport, or a slim notebook, as well as twelve card slots, a side zip pocket, an interior pocket, a bill slot, and a coin pocket. Bank cards, business cards, a boarding pass, a few bills, and coins all travel together under the same flap. Just avoid overfilling all the slots so the flap can still close easily.
How do I care for the distressed-finish coffee-colored leather?
This oiled cowhide leather is very easy to care for. Pressure marks and small scratches usually fade with a rub of the palm, which redistributes the oils and waxes. Once or twice a year, apply a thin coat of colorless nourishing balm, let it absorb for a few minutes, then buff with a soft cloth. If it gets rained on, wipe it without rubbing and let it air-dry away from a radiator. Avoid solvents and household cleaning products. Over time, the coffee color develops a rich patina.
What is the difference between the Traveler LIVRET and OPUS cases?
All three hold an 8-inch tablet, but for different uses. The MANUSCRIT is an organizer case: flap with two snap buttons, hand strap, twelve card slots, zippered pocket, ticket and coin pocket. It replaces your wallet when traveling. The LIVRET is a minimalist zip-up case, without a closure, that only protects the tablet.
