All you need to know
✦ Free laser engraving Genuine leather The small MINE Voyageur pencil case proves that an everyday object can have style. Crafted from distressed-effect cowhide leather (crazy horse type), with an oiled and slightly velvety feel, it features a compact tube format measuring approximately 160 × 55 × 50 mm and weighing just 69 g. A metal zipper runs along the top, opening the case wide: you can store approximately 8 to 10 pens or pencils in one go and find them just as quickly. The unlined interior leaves the leather in its natural state, creating a flexible case that ages as one piece. It accommodates writing instruments up to 16.5 cm long: sharpened pencils, ballpoint pens, fine-liners, and highlighters. Tucked into a bag, satchel, or desk drawer, it is easily forgotten until you need to write. Its distressed brown shade develops a patina over the months. Like the entire Voyageur Collection, it can be personalized: the first laser engraving is free.
Available finish
Distressed-effect cowhide leather, raw and full of character
So-called crazy horse leather is a type of cowhide leather nourished with oils and waxes, then worked on the surface to give it a distressed, slightly powdery appearance. Under the pressure of a finger or at the fold, the oils migrate and the shade lightens locally; over time, these marks blend into a patina that makes each case unique. On an item opened and closed several times a day, the effect appears quickly and enhances its appearance.
The lack of a lining is a consistent choice for a small case: it remains flexible, lightweight, and free from unnecessary bulk, with no fabric or glue that could wear out or peel off. The leather works on its own, as in the most traditional leatherworking, and the case ages as one piece.
Why you will love it
The lead, at the heart of every idea
Everything often begins with a stroke of lead: a sketch, a list, a figure scribbled in the margin. The small Voyageur MINE case pays tribute to this simple gesture, offering everyday pencils and pens a case worthy of them.
No complicated compartment or flap to unfold: a sleek tube shape, a zipper running along the top, and raw leather wrapping the whole thing. Open it, grab the desired pencil, and close it. Its simplicity is its strength, and its distressed brown leather gives it the charm of a long-time companion from the outset.
It is the case for sketchbooks, morning lists, and meetings where you take notes by hand. It slips into a student's backpack or an architect's satchel and develops a patina in time with the ideas put down on paper.
Laser engraving: 1st engraving free
Like every piece in the Voyageur Collection, the MINE case can be personalized with laser engraving, and the 1st engraving is free. Initials, first name, or a short motto: the laser marks the leather with precision and makes this small case a personal item. Browse our personalized products to create a matching set.
The first engraving is free. To go further — engraving a logo (company, club, event) or an additional text area —, check the desired option in the "Engraving options" box, just below the add-to-cart button.

Tip: as the interior is not lined, choose well-capped pens and sharpen your pencils over a bin rather than in the case: graphite shavings mark the raw leather. Once a year, nourish the exterior with a colorless balm; small marks fade with a rubbing of the palm. Once sharpened, the leather develops its own character.

Precautions: the raw leather interior absorbs ink stains and graphite more easily than fabric: carefully close fountain pens and felt-tip pens before storing them. Do not force the zipper if the case is too full. Do not carry an unprotected blade or box cutter. As leather is a natural material, the shade may vary slightly from one piece to another.

Frequently asked questions
Is laser engraving really free?
Yes. Like all pieces in the Voyageur Collection, the MINE case includes a free first laser engraving. You can include initials, a first name, a date, or a short motto; on this small format, a short text remains the most legible and elegant. The laser marks the leather with precision, and the engraving then develops a patina with the case. Beyond the pleasure of a personalized item, the engraving also helps prevent mixing up your case in class, an open-plan office, or at a meeting. Our team can advise you on the text before production.
How can I add a logo or additional engraving?
The first engraving is free. To go further, go to the "Engraving options" box, just below the add-to-cart button, and check the desired option: "Add my logo" (€14.90 per item) to engrave a company, club, or event logo, or "Add an additional text area" (€5.90 per item) for a second text. The option is automatically added to the cart, one per item ordered. For a logo, we will ask you for the file by email after the order: preferably use a vector file or a high-definition image, simple and well-contrasted, for a sharp result. An ideal solution for corporate gifts.
What length of pencil does the case accommodate?
The case accommodates pens and pencils up to 16.5 cm long. This is the length of most ballpoint pens, rollerballs, fine-liners, highlighters, and sharpened pencils. However, a new standard-length pencil, measuring approximately 17.5 cm, will not fit: it will need to be sharpened a few times. Before ordering, take a ruler and measure your longest instruments. If you mainly use large fountain pens or new pencils, the longer Voyageur CALAME case will be more suitable.
How many pens can be stored in it?
Depending on their diameter, the MINE case holds approximately 8 to 10 pens or pencils. Fine pencils and ballpoint pens can easily be stored in groups of ten; thick felt-tip pens or fountain pens will slightly reduce the capacity. To optimize space, store them head-to-tail, alternating tips and caps. Avoid overfilling the case: the zipper should be able to close without forcing, otherwise the leather and closure would wear out prematurely. An eraser or a small pencil sharpener can also find a place there if you carry fewer pens.
Is the lack of a lining a defect?
No, it is a design choice. Without a lining, the case remains more flexible, lighter, and thinner, and it has no fabric or glue that could wear out or peel off over the years: the leather ages as one piece. The inner surface of the cowhide leather is simply left natural. The downside is that it marks more easily: ink from a poorly closed pen or graphite shavings can leave marks. With well-capped pens and pencils sharpened outside, the case keeps a clean interior for a very long time.
How do I care for crazy horse-effect leather?
This cowhide leather nourished with oils and waxes requires little attention. Small marks generally fade with a rubbing of the palm, with heat helping the oils migrate. Once a year, apply a colorless nourishing balm in a thin layer to the exterior, let it penetrate, then buff. For the interior, turn the case inside out and shake it occasionally to remove eraser and graphite dust. Avoid household products, excess water, and direct heat. Over time, the shade darkens and develops nuance: this is the patina.
Are the pens provided?
No. The Voyageur MINE case is sold alone: the pens and pencils visible in the photos are used solely to illustrate the capacity and are not included. You receive the small case in distressed-effect cowhide leather, in distressed brown, with its metal zipper on top. Laser engraving is added if you request it, with the first one free. To store valuable pens separately, with a ruler, badge, and small stationery, discover the Voyageur CALAME organizer case; our office selection also offers other matching accessories.
