Black, white & goldHand-painted4 styles · 23 sizes
A wide black brushstroke sweeping across the canvas, flashes of white bursting forth like light, and over it all, fine golden lines tracing supple curves: Chromatic Echoes captures the energy of a gesture. This abstract oil painting plays with a restrained palette—deep black, smoky gray, and vivid white—which the touches of gold warm up and make precious. The dark masses evoke ink and calligraphy, the gray washes recall mist, and the golden reflections catch the light in the room at every hour of the day. Each canvas is hand-painted to order, making it a unique piece. Four styles are available: one horizontal panoramic composition and three vertical compositions, each with its own movement. The range of sizes is particularly wide, with twenty-three dimensions, from 40 x 60 cm up to 140 x 280 cm, including several elongated formats ideal for placing above a sofa. In a living room with gray tones, an entryway clad in dark wood, or an elegant office, it brings character and a discreet touch of luxury.
Four styles
Style A
Style A – The panoramic
Horizontal composition: gray wash, white highlights, black stroke, and golden arcs.
Style B
Style B – The flight
Vertical: white highlight at the top, black curves, and a golden arc at the bottom.
Style C
Style C – The grand stroke
Vertical: a long, curved black brushstroke on a light background.
Style D
Style D – The golden arcs
Vertical: black strokes on the left, white and crossed golden lines.
All four styles are available in the same twenty-three formats. Style A, which is horizontal, lends itself to wide walls; styles B, C, and D, which are vertical, are better suited for narrower walls, entryways, and hallways.
The gesture
Between ink, mist, and golden light
Chromatic Echoes belongs to gestural abstraction, where the trace of movement counts as much as the form. The broad black brushstrokes, applied in a single motion, recall the aesthetic of ink calligraphy: one can read the speed, pressure, and direction of the hand. Around them, gray paint is stretched into lighter veils, and white is applied in textured highlights that catch the light.
The golden lines are the signature of the work. Fine and supple, they traverse the dark and light masses like a thread of light, creating a visual echo between the different areas of the canvas. Depending on the viewing angle and lighting, they shimmer or fade, giving the composition a different life during the day and in the evening.

Black and gold, a timeless match
The combination of black and gold has always evoked refinement, from ancient lacquerware to Art Deco interiors. Chromatic Echoes revisits this in a contemporary language: the black is not a sedate solid color but a living gesture, and the gold is not a frame but a free line that winds through the canvas.
Our staging photos show it in elegant interiors: black leather or gray velvet sofas, lacquered sideboards, dark wood paneling, marble floors. It plays the role of a centerpiece, picking up the tones of the furniture and sublimating them with its golden reflections.
Find the right combination
1
Observe your wall: wide and low, it calls for the panoramic style A; narrow and tall, a vertical style B, C, or D.
2
Choose the format from the twenty-three proposed, including elongated formats like 60 x 120 or 120 x 240 cm.
3
Plan for the framing: the canvas is delivered unframed; a thin black or gold frame extends the work's palette.
4
Light up the golden lines with a spotlight or wall lamp to make them shimmer in the evening.

Made to order: each canvas is hand-painted after your order. The brushstrokes, white highlights, and golden lines will therefore vary slightly from one piece to another, and the shipping time is longer than for an in-stock item.
Styling tip: above a sofa of 2 to 2.5 m, style A in an elongated format like 80 x 160 or 100 x 200 cm creates a spectacular gallery effect. Repeat a golden note in the room, a light fixture or a vase, to echo the lines of the canvas.

Before ordering: the canvas is delivered without a frame or stretcher frame; please remember to arrange for its mounting. Frequently asked questions
What do the golden lines represent?
The golden lines do not represent a specific object: they are part of the work's abstract language. Fine and curved, they traverse the black masses and white highlights like a thread of light, and visually connect the different areas of the composition, hence the name Chromatic Echoes. They also provide a precious counterpoint to the black, gray, and white palette by catching the light in the room. Depending on your lighting and the angle from which you view the canvas, they shimmer or become more discreet.
Which style should I choose for my wall?
The choice depends primarily on the shape of your wall. For a wide wall, above a sofa, sideboard, or headboard, style A (horizontal) is the most suitable: its long black stroke complements the lines of the furniture. For a narrow wall, an entryway, a hallway, or a section between two windows, prefer a vertical style. Style B offers a balanced composition, style C focuses on a large, highly graphic black gesture, and style D gives more prominence to the golden lines.
Why so many formats?
Chromatic Echoes is offered in twenty-three formats to adapt precisely to your space. These include classic formats such as 50 x 70, 70 x 100, or 90 x 130 cm, but also elongated formats with a 1 to 2 ratio, such as 40 x 80, 60 x 120, 80 x 160, 100 x 200, 120 x 240, and up to 140 x 280 cm. The latter are perfect for a panoramic effect above a sofa or for dressing up a long hallway. And if your wall requires a different dimension, a custom format is still possible.
How do I choose the right size?
Start by measuring the furniture or wall area to be decorated. Above a sofa or bed, the canvas should ideally cover two-thirds of its width. On a free wall, allow for a comfortable margin on each side so the work can breathe. You can also cut a kraft paper template to the planned dimensions and tape it to the wall for a few days: it is the best way to visualize the result. For a spectacular effect, don't hesitate to go big: abstract canvases gain presence with size.
Is the frame provided?
No, the canvas is delivered without a frame or stretcher frame. This choice allows you to adapt the presentation to your interior. For Chromatic Echoes, two options work particularly well: a thin black frame, which extends the brushstrokes and gives a graphic finish, or a gold frame, which complements the canvas's gold lines for a more luxurious effect, as seen in some of our photos. A framer will be able to stretch the canvas onto a frame and advise you on the profile best suited to the chosen format.
Can the canvas be custom-made, and how long does it take?
Yes, a custom dimension is possible: contact us before ordering specifying the desired style and dimensions. Whether standard or custom, each canvas is hand-painted after the order. Therefore, one must account for the time of creation, then the drying time of the oil paint, before packaging and shipping. The lead time is thus longer than for an item in stock, but you receive a unique work. For a specific date, speak to us in advance.
How do I maintain the golden touches?
The golden touches simply require a little delicacy. Dust the canvas occasionally with a very soft feather duster or a large, dry brush without rubbing. Never use water, cleaning products, or a damp cloth, which could tarnish the gold or mark the paint. Avoid hanging the canvas in a humid room, above a heat source, or in direct sunlight behind a window. Preserved this way, the golden lines will retain their luster for a long time and continue to catch the light.
