🔬 Why measure humidity inside the cigar?
A humidor hygrometer measures the humidity of the ambient air around the cigars—this is useful for adjusting the humidifier, but it tells nothing about the actual condition of a particular cigar. The humidity distribution in a cigar is rarely homogeneous: the core can be drier than the wrapper, especially for cigars that have traveled, aged, or been stored under varying conditions.

📋 Ideal measurement range for a cigar: Experienced connoisseurs generally aim for 65 to 72% RH for storage and enjoyment. Below 62%, the cigar risks drying out and burning too quickly. Above 74%, the burn becomes uneven and the draw tightens. The Hygro Probe allows you to check each cigar individually before lighting it.
💡 Probe maintenance: After each use, wipe the stainless steel tips with a soft, dry cloth. Do not immerse in water. If the tips slightly oxidize over time, wiping them with a cloth lightly oiled (neutral mineral oil) will restore their shine and conductivity. Always retract the probe before storage.
