The BLADE cigar cutter introduces a cutting mechanism rarely seen in the world of cigars: the rotary circular blade. Instead of cutting in a straight line (guillotine) or V-shape (V-cut), the BLADE's blade rotates around the cigar, applying even pressure over the entire circumference — resulting in a perfectly clean 360° cut with no risk of wrapper crushing or shearing effect. This cutting technology is particularly appreciated for premium cigars with delicate wrappers (Connecticut, Claro, Cameroon) where the quality of the cut makes all the difference in the first puffs. Compatible with a maximum ring gauge of 55 (22 mm diameter), it accepts almost all common formats: Robusto, Corona, Churchill, Toro, Torpedo, Piramides. Ergonomic 13.6 × 5.8 cm format with scissor-style handles for a familiar grip and total control. Available in three finishes — Gold, Silver, or Black — delivered in its Collection case, ready to be gifted. Rotary Blade 360° Cut

The rotary circular cutting technology

Unlike traditional cigar cutters that apply linear pressure (single or double blade guillotine), the BLADE uses a circular cutting disc that pivots around the cigar when cutting. This mechanism radically changes the quality of the result: the blade simultaneously encounters the tobacco fiber and the wrapper over the entire circumference, distributing pressure evenly rather than progressively.

The advantage is particularly noticeable on delicate wrappers (Connecticut Shade, Claro, Cameroon, Sumatra) which can be torn or crushed by a poorly sharpened guillotine — the rotary blade gives no chance to the fiber to resist, the cut is instantaneous over the entire perimeter. For vintage or premium cigars whose wrapper has slightly dried out, it also guarantees the integrity of the outer wrapper — resulting in a smoother draw and a superior tasting experience.

How to use the BLADE in 4 steps

1
Open the BLADE — spread the scissor-style handles to open the circular mechanism. The cutting disc then moves apart to allow the necessary opening for the cigar head to pass through.
2
Position the cigar head — insert the cigar head into the circular opening, allowing approximately 2 to 3 mm that you wish to cut to protrude. For a Torpedo or Piramide, allow 5 mm of the tip. Keep the cigar straight in line with the mechanism.
3
Close with a decisive motion — close the handles with a single firm and continuous movement. The circular blade pivots around the cigar and cuts the entire circumference in an instant. No sawing motion, no fumbling.
4
Check the draw — remove the cigar and gently blow into it to test the draw. If the resistance is too strong, close again with an additional 1 mm to cut. A good draw should be smooth without being too open (which would cause the cigar to overheat).

Why the rotary blade better preserves the wrapper: classic cigar cutters exert progressive pressure on the tobacco — the blade presses from one side, then cuts through the cigar, slightly crushing the fibers before slicing them. On delicate wrappers (Connecticut Shade in particular), this movement can cause micro-tears or a slight shearing effect at the junction of the wrapper and binder. The BLADE's rotary blade solves this problem: it engages the entire circumference simultaneously, without any prior crushing phase. The result: a cleaner cut, particularly noticeable on the first puffs which reveal the quality of the tobacco without any bitter taste due to a damaged wrapper.

Coordinate the finish with your other accessories: Gold naturally pairs with gold lighters (especially our GOLDYR) and cognac brown leather cases for a warm and luxurious cigar ritual in the classic gentleman spirit. Silver is the most universal choice — it matches all finishes, all lighters, all cases. Black is ideal with a carbon fiber case and a matte black lighter for a coherent contemporary set, reflecting a modern/tech gentleman spirit. For a gift, Gold remains the most impactful color when opening the package; for personal daily use, Silver transcends trends flawlessly.

Blade maintenance: wipe the circular blade with a dry cloth after each use to remove wrapper and tobacco residue. Clean blades maintain their sharpness longer. Avoid leaving the BLADE damp or exposed to moisture — even with quality metal, accumulated moisture in tobacco residue can dull the finish and blunt the edge. Keep out of reach of children — the blade is extremely sharp. In case of mechanism blockage, do not force: clean with a soft brush to remove accumulated residue around the rotary axis.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a rotary blade and why is it different?
Unlike classic cigar cutters (guillotine, V-cut) which exert linear pressure on the cigar, the BLADE's rotary blade rotates around the cigar during the cut. It simultaneously engages the entire circumference, applying even pressure. Major advantage: no prior crushing phase, which preserves delicate wrappers (Connecticut Shade, Claro, Cameroon) that guillotines can slightly damage.
