Non-slip microfiber base: the underside of the ashtray is covered with a soft microfiber layer that provides two essential benefits. Maintenance — important precaution: clean only the porcelain bowl (the inside of the ashtray) with lukewarm water and a little mild dish soap, then dry immediately with a microfiber cloth to prevent limescale spots. Never wet the bottom of the ashtray which is covered with a non-slip microfiber layer: moisture could peel off the coating and cause the ashtray to lose its stability on the table. To clean the bowl, turn the ashtray over after washing and dry the edges well before setting it back down.
For the gold edges and notches, avoid abrasive sponges and acidic products (vinegar, bleach) which can attack the gilding. A soft microfiber cloth is sufficient to maintain the shine of the finish.
