All drawers and internal walls of the EAMES Edition are made of Spanish cedar — the gold standard for premium humidors for centuries, and for good reason. Its hygroscopic cellular structure absorbs excess moisture and releases it when the air is too dry, acting as a natural buffer in addition to the humidifier. Its aromatic terpenes gradually migrate into the tobacco leaves, enriching the flavor profile of your cigars as they age. And it naturally repels the tobacco beetle, an insect capable of destroying a collection in a few weeks.
The EAMES Edition cannot be compared to MDF humidors coated in cedar veneer — here, it is solid cedar across the entire surface in contact with your cigars.
Preparing the EAMES before first use — seasoning

Dampen the walls — using a slightly damp cloth (distilled water only), gently wipe down all cedar surfaces of each drawer. Do not soak — just dampen.

Charge the humidifier to 50% — place it in its dedicated drawer along with the hygrometer. Close the humidor completely.

Wait 24 to 48 hours — check the hygrometer visible on the front. Target: stable 65 to 70%. Repeat if the target humidity is not reached.

Load your collection — once the humidity is stable, place your cigars by origin and format in the drawers using the adjustable divider. The EAMES is ready.
Distilled water only — never use tap water in the humidifier. Limescale clogs humidification systems and can leave residues on tobacco leaves. Distilled water is available at supermarkets for a few cents per liter.
Mandatory seasoning before first use: new cedar is delivered dry and would absorb moisture from your cigars if you placed them inside immediately. You must follow the 4 steps above before adding your collection.
