The FOLIA pendant lamp borrows its silhouette from large tropical leaves: an asymmetric, hand-woven rattan corolla that captures light and diffuses it into a warm, organic, and enveloping glow. Natural Rattan Each strand of rattan is stretched over a metal frame in a radial pattern, allowing light to filter through the fibers—a play of shadows and transparencies that changes throughout the day and with the viewing angle. Available in two shades—Natural (golden honey rattan) and Off-White (bleached rattan)—and in four diameters from 40 to 80 cm, the FOLIA is equally suited for an intimate reading nook or a large dining table. Suspended by a 120 cm braided textile cable (adjustable length on request), it brings that touch of artisan warmth that only natural materials can offer to any room.

Rattan — the fiber of living interiors

Rattan is a tropical vine whose flexible and resistant stems have been used for centuries in basketry and furniture making. Unlike synthetic materials, it is a renewable resource that grows naturally without intensive cultivation, making it one of the most sustainable materials in interior design.

Hand-woven for the FOLIA, rattan develops natural variations in shade and texture from one piece to another—this is what gives each pendant its unique character. Lightweight yet solid, it lets light pass through while delicately filtering it, creating a play of radiant shadows on walls and ceilings that opaque lampshades cannot replicate.

FOLIA — light captured like a leaf
The FOLIA is perceived differently depending on the time of day. In the morning, with the light off, it's a suspended vegetal sculpture—the wavy rattan corolla creates a shape in space reminiscent of a water lily seen from below or a palm leaf fan. In the evening, with the bulb on, everything changes: light passes through the woven strands and projects a network of radiant shadows onto the walls, slowly rotating with air currents. The asymmetry of the shape gives each viewing angle a different profile—the FOLIA has no "good side," it is alive from every perspective. The braided textile cable extends the artisanal spirit all the way to the ceiling: no visible plastic wires, no details that break the natural momentum. In Natural, it warms up interiors of wood, linen, and terracotta. In Off-White, it lightens volumes and floats like a cloud of fibers above the table.

Installation in four steps

1
Turn off the power. Disconnect the circuit of the room concerned before any electrical work. Check for absence of current with a tester.
2
Attach the plate to the ceiling. Screw the mounting plate to the anchor point (existing hook or wall plug suitable for the ceiling type). Pass the braided textile cable (120 cm supplied, adjustable on request) and adjust to the desired hanging length.
3
Connect the wires. Connect phase, neutral, and ground to the terminals of the connector block or quick connector provided. Check the solidity of the connections before closing the ceiling rose.
4
Install the bulb and turn on. Screw an E27 bulb (not included) into the socket—opt for a warm white LED model (2,700 K) to enhance the natural tones of the rattan. Restore power and enjoy.

Which size for which room?

Size Dimensions Illuminated area Min. ceiling height Recommended use
S (40 cm) D40 × H18 cm 2-4 m² 2.30 m Bedside, reading nook, entryway
M (50 cm) D50 × H18 cm 4-6 m² 2.40 m Office, kitchen, hallway
L (60 cm) D60 × H18 cm 6-10 m² 2.50 m 4-6 seat table, living room
XL (80 cm) D80 × H24 cm 10-15 m² 2.60 m Large table, open-plan living room, hall

Bulb and socket: the FOLIA is equipped with an E27 socket (the most common in France). The bulb is not included. We recommend a warm white LED (2,700 K), ideally with visible filament for an optimal aesthetic effect through the weave. Recommended wattage: 6-10 W LED (equivalent to 40-60 W incandescent).

Decorating tip: for maximum effect, hang the FOLIA 70-80 cm above a table or 2 m from the floor as ambient lighting. The L and XL models are particularly striking in pairs or trios offset at different heights above a large kitchen island or a rectangular table. Pair the Natural shade with raw materials (wood, linen, terracotta) and the Off-White with light interiors and Scandinavian or Japandi styles.

Electrical installation: connection to the electrical network must be carried out with the power off (disconnect the circuit). If you are not comfortable with wiring, call a qualified electrician. Rattan is a flammable natural material: do not exceed the maximum recommended wattage and do not use halogen or high-wattage incandescent bulbs in direct proximity to the lampshade.

The decorative gift that transforms a room

The FOLIA is the type of gift that changes the atmosphere of an interior as soon as it's lit. Its organic woven rattan silhouette and its play of radiant shadows make it an ideal present for a housewarming, a wedding, a birthday, or simply to please a loved one who appreciates natural materials and artisanal design. Two shades and four sizes allow you to choose the combination that suits the recipient's interior.

Frequently asked questions

Which FOLIA size should I choose for my room?
The choice depends on the surface area to be illuminated and your ceiling height. Generally: the S (40 cm) model is suitable for a reading nook, bedside, or entryway; the M (50 cm) for an office or kitchen; the L (60 cm) for a 4- to 6-seat table or living room; and the XL (80 cm) for a large open space, a central island, or a hall. Plan for a minimum ceiling height of 2.30 m for S and 2.60 m for XL.
Is the bulb included?
No — the FOLIA comes without a bulb. It is equipped with an E27 socket, the most common in France. We recommend a warm white LED (2,700 K) bulb of 6 to 10 W for warm lighting that highlights the natural tones of the rattan. Visible filament LED bulbs are particularly aesthetic through the weave.
Is rattan a strong and durable material?
Yes — rattan is a naturally flexible and resistant tropical vine, used for centuries in basketry and furniture making. Woven on a metal frame, it retains its shape and hold over time. Rattan is also a renewable material: the vines regrow naturally without needing replanting. With minimal maintenance (regular dusting), your FOLIA will maintain its brilliance for many years.
Is the rattan color exactly as shown in the photos?
Rattan is a natural material: each piece exhibits slight variations in shade, grain, and texture that make it unique. The Natural shade ranges from golden honey to light caramel; the Off-White shade offers a warm, slightly creamy white. These variations are the signature of an artisan product—they are not a defect but contribute to the charm of an authentic material.
How do I care for the FOLIA pendant lamp?
Maintenance is simple: regular dusting with a feather duster or vacuum cleaner (brush attachment, reduced power) is sufficient for everyday use. In case of a stain, wipe the affected area with a slightly damp cloth and let it air dry. Avoid chemical products and prolonged exposure to direct humidity (bathroom, uncovered outdoor areas): rattan is designed for dry interiors.
Can I install the FOLIA myself?
Yes, provided you are comfortable with basic electrical wiring (connecting phase/neutral/ground to a terminal block or quick connector). Installation requires turning off the power at the circuit breaker before any manipulation. If you are not experienced, we recommend calling an electrician. The ceiling mounting is done via a standard plate, compatible with the vast majority of existing light points.
Can several FOLIA lamps be hung together?
This is even one of the most beautiful decorative effects of the FOLIA. Two or three pendant lamps of different sizes (e.g., one L and two S, or one XL and one M) hung at staggered heights above a large kitchen island or a rectangular table create an organic and spectacular composition. Mix the sizes but keep the same shade for a harmonious ensemble.
