Exclusive XXL format

Desk Mat XXL Livingstone
Accommodates 16'' laptop, full keyboard, and mouse simultaneously. Integrated wireless charging zone at the right end. Ideal for main desk, gaming setup, or premium remote work.

Oiled nubuck leather: living nobility

The oiled nubuck leather that makes up the Livingstone is obtained by finely sanding the leather grain, creating that characteristic velvety feel similar to suede—but much more resistant. The treatment with natural oil provides remarkable water-repellent protection: drops of coffee, water, or tea bead on the surface without penetrating the material, preserving the suppleness and appearance of the mat over time.

It is living leather that develops a patina through contact with the items placed on it, the hands that touch it, and the light that caresses it. Each sign of use enriches the object with a unique character: the mouse friction zones take on a warmer hue, the area around the keyboard keeps the memory of hours of work, and the laptop's position leaves its silhouette in the leather. The Livingstone gradually becomes yours—like a beautiful writer's desk that has seen decades of manuscripts pass by.

The backing, made of light brown natural suede, ensures excellent grip on all types of desks and protects the surface underneath.

THE ART OF THE TOTAL DESK

At a time when our personal desks have become the primary stage for our professional activities, where video conferences daily expose our workspace to our colleagues and clients, and where the boundary between living space and workspace is blurring more every day, the Livingstone offers a radical solution: fully dressing your workspace with a single piece of fine leather. No more isolated mouse pads that stand out amidst the wood, no more mismatched wear patterns on the desk, no more cluttered mix of materials and textures. A single artisanal gesture covers the entire useful surface. Placed on an oak desk, an antique library table, in a contemporary loft, or in a demanding gaming setup, the Livingstone asserts total visual coherence. The integrated wireless charger disappears into the leather, signaled only by a discrete icon and two blue LEDs that light up when the smartphone touches the zone—technology serving beauty, never the other way around. And because every detail counts, the custom laser engraving is complimentary: discrete initials in the corner, a first name, or a favorite quote that accompanies you in every work session.

Complimentary custom laser engraving

Included in your order

Each Livingstone is delivered with custom laser engraving included at no extra cost. Initials, first name, full name, memorable date, or favorite quote: laser engraving on oiled nubuck leather produces a deep and durable mark, which naturally integrates into the leather's patina over time.

What you can engrave: short text (up to 30 characters), initials, date in DD.MM.YYYY format. The engraving is positioned by default in a discrete corner, but other locations are possible upon request.

Ideal for: exceptional personalized gifts, corporate gifts with logos, celebrating a promotion, or a personal signature for your daily setup.

Setting up the Livingstone in 4 steps

1
Unroll and let flatten Unroll the mat on your desk. Since the leather is naturally supple but retains marks from packaging, let it rest flat for 24 to 48 hours so it takes its final shape and adheres perfectly to the surface.
2
Connect the USB-C cable Connect the provided USB-C cable to the discrete port integrated into the leather, then to a QC 3.0 or QC 2.0 power adapter (9V-2A minimum to benefit from 15W fast charging). Adapter not included.
3
Organize your setup Arrange your laptop, keyboard, mouse, and accessories on the surface. The wireless charging zone is located at the right end—an ideal spot for placing your smartphone within reach while you work.
4
Place your smartphone on the charging zone Place your smartphone (Qi-compatible) on the zone marked by the icon. The blue LEDs light up to confirm that charging is active. No cables to plug into the phone.

Productivity tip: take advantage of the XXL format to create real work zoning on your desk. Mentally define three zones: center for the open laptop, left for a notebook and pens (the leather is perfect for writing on without leaving marks), right for the mouse and smartphone charging zone. This spatial structure measurably improves concentration and the fluidity of long work sessions. Furthermore, the nubuck leather offers optimal mouse friction—precise without being slippery, fluid without being sticky.

Precautions for use and leather care: although the oiled nubuck leather is waterproof, immediately wipe up any significant spills (coffee, water, juice) with a dry cloth to prevent prolonged absorption. For routine maintenance, dust with a soft brush or a dry microfiber cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals (household alcohol, solvents, disinfectant wipes) as they alter the leather's natural oil and may discolor the material. To revive the look after several months of use, periodically apply a colorless wax for nubuck leather in a very thin layer. Do not place the charging zone near credit cards, magnetic badges, or external hard drives—electromagnetic waves may damage them. 15W fast charging requires a compatible QC adapter (not provided). Do not fold the integrated wireless charger zone for extended periods. When unrolling for the first time, leave flat for 24 to 48 hours before use to allow the leather to take its final shape.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose the Livingstone over the Magellan?
The choice depends on your primary use. The Livingstone XXL 80 × 40 cm is designed to cover your entire main desk: it simultaneously accommodates a laptop, full keyboard, mouse, and accessories, creating total visual coherence. It is ideal for a home office, a professional setup, or a demanding gaming station. The Magellan (23×34 or 32×23 cm formats) is designed as an ergonomic mouse station with integrated wrist rest and foldable smartphone stand: it complements an existing desk without covering it entirely. Both products are perfectly complementary for someone who has both a main desk and a mobile workspace.
Is the 80 × 40 cm format suitable for my desk?
The 80 × 40 cm format is calibrated for standard to large desks (recommended minimum width: 100 cm to allow for aesthetic clearance on the sides). It comfortably covers a 16'' MacBook Pro + mechanical keyboard + mouse. For a smaller desk (60-80 cm deep), the mat may overhang the edge slightly—aesthetically acceptable, but worth noting. For very large desks (160+ cm wide), the Livingstone occupies the central active zone, leaving the sides free for a phone, lamp, or decor. Measure your desk before ordering to confirm suitability.
Is the laser engraving really complimentary?
Yes, custom laser engraving is fully complimentary on the Livingstone, with no extra cost. When ordering, indicate the text or visual to be engraved in the designated field: initials, first name, last name, date, short quote (up to 30 characters), or vector logo. The engraving is performed with a precision laser directly on the leather, creating a permanent mark with deep contrast that integrates into the leather's patina over time. Allow for 2 to 4 additional business days for personalization. For corporate logos, send a vector file (SVG, AI, or PDF)—or a high-resolution PNG on a transparent background.
Does the desk mat slide on the desk?
No, the natural suede backing ensures excellent grip on the vast majority of desk surfaces: solid wood, melamine, glass, and metal. The suede offers a high coefficient of friction that keeps the mat perfectly in place, even during intensive mouse or keyboard use. On very smooth or mirrored surfaces, the grip remains good but may require the mat to settle for a few hours after installation. The suede backing also protects the desk surface underneath from micro-scratches and pressure marks from placed accessories.
Will the leather wear out from mouse friction?
No, and that is precisely one of the great advantages of the oiled nubuck leather. Unlike smooth, varnished leather that could show signs of wear quickly, oiled nubuck develops a patina upon contact with the mouse: the area of use gradually takes on a slightly warmer tone and an even more velvety feel. Far from degrading, the leather enriches visually in the area of friction. Mice with Teflon or soft plastic feet do not cause any scratches. With minimal maintenance, the Livingstone improves over several years of daily use.
Can the Livingstone be transported while traveling?
Yes, the Livingstone is rollable thanks to the natural suppleness of the nubuck leather. For transport, roll it up gently (never fold it at sharp angles) starting from the side opposite the charger, ideally using a leather tie or ribbon to keep it compact. Weighing 641g for the 80×40 cm format, it is nevertheless better suited for a fixed workstation than for truly nomadic use: for frequent travel requiring wireless charging, prefer our Magellan mat in compact formats specifically designed for mobility. The Livingstone is ideal for occasional transport between two desks (home/coworking, remote work/office).
Does the Livingstone make a good corporate gift?
It is probably one of the most impactful corporate gifts you can offer today. Its combination of an imposing XXL format, genuine leather craftsmanship, technology useful for everyday life, and complimentary laser logo engraving makes it a gift that reminds the recipient of your brand every working day. Particularly suitable for: onboarding senior executive staff, year-end rewards for managers, strategic VIP client gifts, and commemorating major company events (anniversaries, mergers, office openings).
