Everything you need to know

The FOLIA pendant light borrows its silhouette from large tropical leaves: an asymmetrical corolla of hand-woven rattan that captures light and diffuses it into a warm, organic, and enveloping halo. Natural rattan Each strand of rattan is stretched over a metal frame in a radial pattern that allows light to filter through the fiber — a play of shadows and transparencies that varies throughout the day and depending on the angle of view. Available in two shades — Natural (golden honey rattan) and Off-White (bleached rattan) — and in four diameters from 40 to 80 cm, the FOLIA is equally suited for an intimate reading nook or a large dining table. Suspended by a 120 cm twisted textile cable (length adjustable upon request), it brings to any room that touch of artisanal warmth that only natural materials can offer.

Rattan — the fiber of living interiors

Rattan is a tropical vine whose flexible and resistant stems have been used for centuries in basketry and furniture. Unlike synthetic materials, it is a renewable resource that grows naturally without intensive cultivation, making it one of the most sustainable materials in interior design.

Hand-woven on the FOLIA, the rattan develops natural variations in shade and texture from one piece to another — this is what gives each pendant its unique character. Light yet sturdy, it lets light pass through while filtering it delicately, creating a play of radiant shadows on the walls and ceiling that opaque lampshades cannot replicate.

FOLIA — light as captured by a leaf

You don't notice the FOLIA in the same way depending on the time of day. In the morning, with the light off, it is a suspended botanical sculpture — the wavy corolla of the rattan draws a shape in space that evokes a water lily seen from below or the fan of a palm leaf. In the evening, with the bulb on, everything changes: light passes through the woven strands and projects a network of radiant shadows on the walls that slowly turns with the drafts. The asymmetry of the shape gives each angle of view a different profile — the FOLIA has no "good side," it is alive from every perspective. The twisted textile cable extends the artisanal spirit to the ceiling: no visible plastic wire, no detail that breaks the natural flow. In Natural, it warms up interiors of wood, linen, and terracotta. In Off-White, it lightens the volumes and floats like a cloud of fibers above the table.

Installation in four steps

1
Cut the power. Turn off the circuit breaker for the room in question before any work on the electrical connection. Check for the absence of current with a tester.
2
Attach the plate to the ceiling. Screw the mounting plate to the anchor point (existing hook or wall plug suitable for the type of ceiling). Feed the twisted textile cable through (120 cm provided, adjustable upon request) and adjust the desired suspension length.
3
Connect the wires. Connect phase, neutral, and ground to the terminals of the block or the quick-connector provided. Check the strength of the connections before closing the ceiling cover.
4
Install the bulb and turn on. Screw an E27 bulb (not included) into the socket — opt for a warm white LED model (2,700 K) to enhance the natural shades of the rattan. Restore power and enjoy.

Which size for which room?

Size Dimensions Lit area Min. ceiling height Recommended usage
S (40 cm) D40 × H18 cm 2-4 m² 2.30 m Bedside, reading nook, entryway
M (50 cm) D50 × H18 cm 4-6 m² 2.40 m Office, kitchen, hallway
L (60 cm) D60 × H18 cm 6-10 m² 2.50 m 4-6 seater table, living room
XL (80 cm) D80 × H24 cm 10-15 m² 2.60 m Large table, open living room, hall

Bulb and socket: the FOLIA is equipped with an E27 socket (the most common in France). The bulb is not included. We recommend a warm white LED (2,700 K), ideally with an exposed filament for optimal aesthetic results through the weaving. Recommended power: 6-10 W LED (equivalent to 40-60 W incandescent).

Decor tip: for maximum effect, hang the FOLIA 70-80 cm above a table or at 2 m from the floor for ambient lighting. The L and XL models are particularly striking in pairs or trios offset at different heights above a large kitchen island or a rectangular table. Pair the Natural shade with raw materials (wood, linen, terracotta) and the Off-White with bright interiors and Scandinavian or Japandi styles.

Electrical installation: connection to the electrical grid must be performed without power (turn off the circuit breaker). If you are not comfortable with the connection, call a qualified electrician. Rattan is a flammable natural material: do not exceed the recommended maximum power and do not use high-power halogen or incandescent bulbs in direct proximity to the lampshade.

The decor gift that transforms a room

The FOLIA is the type of gift that changes the atmosphere of an interior as soon as you turn it on. Its organic silhouette in woven rattan and its play of radiant shadows make it an ideal gift for a housewarming, wedding, birthday, or simply to delight a loved one who loves natural materials and artisanal design. Two shades and four sizes allow you to choose the combination that matches the recipient's interior.

Frequently asked questions

Which FOLIA size should I choose for my room?
The choice depends on the surface area of the zone to be lit and your ceiling height. As a general rule: the S (40 cm) model suits a reading nook, a bedside, or an entryway; the M (50 cm) a desk or a kitchen; the L (60 cm) a 4-to-6-seater table or a living room; and the XL (80 cm) a large open space, a central island, or a hall. Plan for a ceiling height of at least 2.30 m for the S and 2.60 m for the XL.
Is the bulb included?
No — the FOLIA is delivered without a bulb. It is equipped with an E27 socket, the most common in France. We recommend a warm white LED (2,700 K) bulb of 6 to 10 W for warm lighting that highlights the natural shades of the rattan. LED bulbs with an exposed filament are particularly aesthetic through the weaving.
Is rattan a solid and durable material?
Yes — rattan is a naturally flexible and resistant tropical vine, used for centuries in basketry and furniture. Woven onto a metal frame, it maintains its shape and hold over time. Rattan is also a renewable material: the vines regrow naturally without requiring replanting. With minimal maintenance (regular dusting), your FOLIA will retain its luster for many years.
Is the color of the rattan exactly as in the photos?
Rattan is a natural material: each piece presents slight variations in shade, grain, and texture that make it unique. The Natural shade oscillates between golden honey and light caramel; the Off-White shade offers a warm, slightly creamy white. These variations are the signature of an artisanal product — they do not constitute a defect but are part of the charm of an authentic material.
How do I maintain the FOLIA pendant light?
Maintenance is simple: regular dusting with a duster or vacuum cleaner (brush attachment, reduced power) is sufficient for daily use. In case of a stain, wipe a slightly damp cloth over the affected area and let it air dry. Avoid chemicals and prolonged exposure to direct humidity (bathroom, uncovered outdoor areas): rattan is made for dry interiors.
Can I install the FOLIA myself?
Yes, provided you are comfortable with basic electrical connections (connecting phase/neutral/ground to a block or quick-connector). The installation requires cutting the power at the circuit breaker before any handling. If you are not used to it, we recommend calling an electrician. Ceiling mounting is done via a standard plate, compatible with the vast majority of existing light points.
Can I hang several FOLIA together?
It is actually one of the most beautiful decor effects of the FOLIA. Two or three pendant lights of different sizes (for example, one L and two S, or one XL and one M) hung at offset heights above a large kitchen island or a rectangular table create an organic and spectacular composition. Mix the sizes but keep the same shade for a harmonious ensemble.
