The art of mastered asymmetry

Balance draws its identity from a fundamental graphic tension: a metal arch that is never perfectly symmetrical. One branch is longer, more curved, and higher than the other. The opal spheres punctuate these unbalanced ends like counterweights—hence the name Balance. This embraced imperfection evokes the mobiles of Alexander Calder as much as the grace of an Asian calligrapher setting their stroke. The result: a light fixture that enlivens space through its very silhouette, regardless of its illumination.

Which model for which use?

The Solo is ideal for a bedside table, next to a reading chair, or as a discreet accent pendant. The Duo and Duo XL are suitable for office suspension, above a kitchen counter, or in a double bedroom to light each side of the bed. The Trio and Trio XL deploy horizontally like a hanging mobile—perfect above a dining table, a central island, or as a living room centerpiece with their 3 spheres floating in a cascade.

Bulb advice. Prefer LED bulbs in warm white (2700-3000K), intensity 200 to 400 lumens per sphere. For spheres equipped with E27 sockets, opt for frosted G80 or G95 globe LEDs adapted to the size of the opal glass. For G9 sockets, standard G9 LED capsules are sufficient. The effect is optimal when the LED light remains soft—the opal glass itself performs the diffusion. Avoid bulbs at 5000K or more, which make the light cold and clinical.

Balance or Tree Chandelier? Both light fixtures share the use of metal and blown glass, but their aesthetic stances are radically opposed. The Tree Chandelier is an organic sculpture with imperfect glass bubbles and a branched structure. Balance is a geometric graphic line, featuring uniform opal spheres and a minimalist, clean silhouette. Choose Balance for discreet elegance and purity, and the Tree Chandelier for a dramatic sculptural presence.

Opal sphere precautions. Opal blown glass is resistant but remains a fragile material during transport and installation. Handle each sphere with care when replacing a bulb, supporting the weight of the sphere rather than pulling on the thread. Avoid impacts, abrasive cloths, and harsh chemicals that could dull the characteristic milky opacity of the opal glass.

A timeless design gift. The Balance light fixture transcends eras through its geometric purity—it is a gift that never goes out of style. The Solo model is ideal for a first installation (young adult, student, first apartment). The Duo and Trio models are suitable for a housewarming or wedding: they immediately transform a room into a masterfully arranged architectural volume. The Trio XL in the Gold finish makes an exceptional gift for a major event.

Frequently asked questions

Which finish to choose: Black or Gold?
Matte Black brings a strong graphic presence that stands out against light-colored walls and adds a contemporary architectural touch. Ideal for Scandinavian, Japandi, pure minimalist interiors, or rooms with warm tones (terracotta, ocher, beige) to create a strong contrast. Brass Gold adds a heritage warmth and golden luster that dialogues with dark walls (midnight blue, deep green, anthracite) or Art Deco, mid-century, and warm-toned contemporary interiors.
Which model to choose for my room?
For a bedroom or bedside table, the Solo in pairs (one on each side) is elegant and functional. For an office or reading corner, the Solo or Duo. For a kitchen with a central island or dining table, the Trio or Trio XL with horizontal deployment are ideal. For a large living room, hall, or double-height room, the Trio XL creates a true architectural installation.
How does the mix of G9 and E27 bulbs work?
Depending on the model and the position of each sphere, some sockets are G9 (compact capsules for smaller diameter spheres) and others are E27 (standard for larger spheres). This distribution is calibrated to optimize light diffusion according to each bulb. You will find the exact configuration in the manual delivered with your order, and you simply need to respect these matches during replacement.
Which bulb should I choose to reveal the opal glass?
A warm white LED (2700 to 3000 Kelvin), intensity 200 to 400 lumens per sphere. For E27 sockets, frosted G80 or G95 globe LEDs, adapted to the diameter of each opal sphere. For G9 sockets, standard G9 LED capsules. The expected effect is soft and diffused—the opal glass itself is an excellent diffuser, so there is no need to overdo it. Absolutely avoid bulbs at 5000K or more, which render the light cold and clinical, the opposite of the fixture's spirit.
Why is the arch asymmetrical?
It is the graphic signature of the Balance light fixture. The asymmetry is not a defect but an intended choice that gives the light its unique identity. One branch is longer or more curved than the other, and the opal spheres counter-balance these unequal masses—hence the name Balance. This graphic tension evokes Calder's mobiles or the grace of an Asian calligrapher: a mastered imbalance that creates visual movement and enlivens the space.
Is the light fixture delivered with the ceiling rose?
Yes, each Balance light fixture is delivered with its metal ceiling rose coordinated with the finish (matte black for the Black version, brass for the Gold version), as well as the black cable and complete mounting kit. The cable can be shortened to the desired length during installation. For the vertical Solo and Duo models, allow a minimum clearance of 2.10 m between the floor and the bottom of the lowest sphere.
How do I maintain the opal spheres?
A soft microfiber cloth, dry or slightly dampened, is enough for regular dusting of the opal spheres. Strictly avoid abrasive cloths, window cleaning sprays (which often contain ammonia), and any harsh chemical products. The lacquered metal structure can be cleaned with a dry soft cloth. For stubborn marks, use a little lukewarm soapy water; never use alcohol or solvents.
